The whole school approach to violence reduction adopted in the NCfLB programmes provides training and support for:

• a school self review of levels of physical and verbal violence and how well organised the school is to address the issues
• implementing policies and strategies to create a climate of harmony (“convivencia”) in which violent behaviour will not be tolerated and will not flourish
• responding to violence when it occurs in ways which help prevent a recurrence
• engaging families and the local community in a combined
